Hi Everyone,
Just an update on where we are at with the HMH FUSE pilot at Earhart
HMH Pilot
Two Teachers teaching 5 sections of Algebra 1 volunteered in September to be a part of this pilot. Dan Sbur and Jackie Davis
HMH randomly selected 1 class each that were provided with iPads and the HMH FUSE App
All other classes received the same resources but in traditional format (i.e. textbooks)
Teachers were provided training and support on all instructional materials and taught using the same resources for all classes
Students in the iPad class were checked out iPads to take home and encouraged to personalize them and use them in other classes.
Preliminary results:
To date none of the 76 iPads have been lost or stolen
Students in traditional classes are testing out at 60% proficient or above using our current benchmarks as opposed to 42% in a traditional classroom two year's ago
Students in iPad classes are testing out at 90.5% proficient or above using our current benchmarks
Students and staff site the ease of having all resources in one application and many regularly use the embedded video of the author of the textbook teaching the concept or chapter
